Library Days!

I had this idea of being a mom and how we would read books and it was going to be sweet. It wasn't until these last 2 weeks that the last little bit of this idea was killed....like a spider that my friend Becki takes out. If you know me well I always say "we don't take our kids in public". I'm not joking...well "I" don't take them public myself. Reason being Brayden is 3 1/2 and Carson will be 2 at the end of the month. They are well behaved kids and have great manners but when we get in public they lose their minds. They run, they are loud and talk to EVERY strange there is. So pretty much like most toddlers.

So last week Monday my mom Linda and I took the boys to the library to check out some of the free DVD's. We hit the doors in the library and the "we don't take our kids in public" child showed up. Carson was the first...running and not only running, but going behind the desk and in the hallway of offices. Brayden then was running through the adults fiction section. I wanted to hide and judge me like I know everyone else was. After checking out and getting them into the van, my mom and I looked at each and laughed, yes laughed because what else were we going to do.

Now a week later it being Monday the free DVD's had to be returned or they wouldn't be so free. Now we could have drove up and dropped them in the drop box but we NEEDED to go in and try again. So as we get in there (much later in the evening and a lot less busy. That was planned). The boys each drop their movies in the return box and go to get more. Carson at this point grabs DVD's from the rack and RUNS to drop them in the return section.... OK not so bad. At this point Brayden made a break for it and runs around the Christian Fiction section. I said "that's 1" and he returned, YES!!!!!! I sat them both down on the floor to wait for me. They each pick a movie and I pick two, because if not well... I just have to pick two of them! We checked out and make it to the outside doors. This is when the "MOM voice" comes out because they take off to the van, ALWAYS. A older couple was coming in and Brayden RUNS, I yell "STOP", "THAT'S 1" he returns...YES AGAIN. This very nice gentlemen looks at me and says "it get's better". WOW, that was what I needed to hear. It was the first moment I didn't feel judged! So next week Monday we shall return to the library.

Brayden and Carson's Mommy!
